Help Adama go to UTG

In the fall of 2016, Haddy Sowe wrote:
     Greetings from the Gambia !
Last week Friday I got a request that required immediate action . Adama Jallow got admission to attend the University of The Gambia and she has begun her classes. The problem now is Her family was hoping that she will get  a scholarship from the government and that did not happen . Adama has to pay her tuition fees if not her studies will be put on hold until the next academic year 2017 and if that happens this will be the end of her attaining her university education . Her deadline is until the end of this week but her father is seeking for extension from the university administration. Adama’s parents are both jobless and she is the  first person in her family from both her mom and dad side to attain university qualification .
I know a good number of you still have kids that you pay their school fees for either direct or through Gambia Rising scholarship program. I would like you to  help reach out to family members , friends and other associates to help raise funds for Adama and the money can be send to Gambia Rising account .
Thank you for all that you do to support the Gambian people!

Enough people responded that we were able to pay Haddy's overdue fees so she could stay in school.
Here's a video of Adama thanking her sponsors -->

The funds raised were almost exactly what she needed, ... for the first year.

Now she needs the funds for the second year.
Any amount will help; monthly donations are even better.

Greetings from The Gambia!

It has been a busy time here, we just swore in new volunteers last month  and very soon we are expecting another cohort, and lots of rains as well.

Meanwhile, I am happy to report that thanks to you we were able to raise almost exactly the amount that Adama Jallow needed to attend the University of The Gambia last year.  Now I hope we can do it again, so she can start her second year.  Without our continuing support, she will have no chance.  We will use all donations to pay her tuition at the University, and her family and friends will pay for transport and other costs.  But they cannot possibly pay the UTG tuition, which is where we came to her rescue last year.

If you can support her again this year at the same level, or maybe even a little more, that will be a wonderful gift to her.  Our friends at Gambia Rising have added the option of monthly payments to the fund-raising page for her, and if this is easier for you, that will be great.  A pledge of just $15 per month will get her $180 closer to her dream of being a sophomore.

Thanks so much for helping her this far; I hope you can help her again this year.  100% of your donation will go to help Adama.

Thank you and best wishes!

Haddy Sowe
