Greetings from the Gambia ! Last week Friday I got a request that required immediate action . Adama Jallow got admission to attend the University of The Gambia and she has begun her classes. The problem now is Her family was hoping that she will get a scholarship from the government and that did not happen . Adama has to pay her tuition fees if not her studies will be put on hold until the next academic year 2017 and if that happens this will be the end of her attaining her university education . Her deadline is until the end of this week but her father is seeking for extension from the university administration. Adama’s parents are both jobless and she is the first person in her family from both her mom and dad side to attain university qualification . I know a good number of you still have kids that you pay their school fees for either direct or through Gambia Rising scholarship program. I would like you to help reach out to family members , friends and other associates to help raise funds for Adama and the money can be send to Gambia Rising account . Thank you for all that you do to support the Gambian people! Warm regards, Haddy Sowe |
Enough people responded that we were able to pay Haddy's overdue fees so she could stay in school.
Here's a video of Adama thanking her sponsors --> The funds raised were almost exactly what she needed, ... for the first year. Now she needs the funds for the second year. Any amount will help; monthly donations are even better. |
