Help Modou go to University of The Gambia
Aimee Cunningham writes: I want to support Modou Senghore because I believe in his dedication to his education and to his community. I know Modou Senghore from my time in Peace Corps training in Sare Samba where I became familiar with him and some of his friends who were some of the most hard working young people I have ever met. Coming from an agricultural community where many young men and women are forced to drop out of school to work on their family's farm, Modou's teachers convinced his parents to keep him in school. Modou was one of the few students with the opportunity to complete his studies at Kaiaf Upper and Senior Secondary School making a 5km walk every day. Modou has an opportunity to attend University of the Gambia. He has the dedication, intelligence and drive to change his life, and help change his community.
Please give any amount you can here. (And please consider a small monthly donation over the next four years so we can help Modou go all the way! Just check the "Make it monthly" box on the Donate page.) |
Modou writes: I am attending the Advanced Diploma programme at the Gambia [Teachers] College where I will be finishing the programme by June 2019. I am dedicated and punctual in school. I have demonstrated professionalism in handling issues and responsibilities assigned to me during my time there. I want to pursue a Bachelor’s degree programme in the University of the Gambia. I have always persevered in my quest for higher education and if given this opportunity I will excel. I want to major in Geography and minor in Biology at the University of the Gambia. I sincerely vouch for my character and integrity in everything that I do.
