Join GambiaRising at Sona Jobarteh
Thursday, June 12th - at SFJazz Center

Sona Jobarteh is a London-born Gambian vocalist and kora virtuoso.  She was born into one of the five principal Kora-playing Griot families from West Africa  and is the first female professional kora player to come from a Griot family. She is the granddaughter of the Master Griot of his generation, Amadu Bansang Jobarteh, cousin of the well-known, celebrated kora player Toumani Diabate as well as the sister of the renowned Diaspora kora player Tunde Jegede.

We will be organizing an event so RPCVs and GambiaRising supporters can meet and go to the
7 PM concert together (it is general admission, so we'll head over around 6:30).
SORRY.  Our tickets are all gone.  And both shows are sold out.  But please send us a note at GambiaRising@gmail.com to be kept informed of any pre-concert event we organize (and if we have any tickets turned back in!)
